to rise above
up and even maybe out
a man said
some transcend time
through fame
at least he said
people find transcendence
through fame
i’m not sure what else
would be escaped
other than time
but I keep
hearing transcendence
in guitar solos
what must it feel like?
to emit something
so lovely
an expression of emotion
an evocation of meaning
without any words
through pure sounds?
i listen to these odes
lasting mere moments
i can’t stop thinking
about the body being transcended
with all its aches and pains
all the frustrations
the disappointments
the failures
the frustrations
enclosed and folded
into the memory of the soul
all the things
encased in the physical body
